Transformed Investment Property in Gatton, QLD
First impressions matter when a property is going back on the market, and an overgrown garden can make the entire home feel more neglected than it actually is.
This Gatton investment property had been left tired and overgrown by previous tenants. Before putting the property back on the market, the owner wanted to give the outdoor areas a proper reset.
The brief wasn’t to create an elaborate display garden.
The objective was much more practical: improve the presentation of the property, create stronger street appeal and keep the finished landscape manageable for future occupants.
Creating a Cleaner Front Entrance

The front of the property underwent a complete garden makeover.
We introduced a new coastal-style garden design around the house, creating defined beds that gave the frontage a more deliberate layout.
Cream block garden edging was installed around the garden areas, providing a clean visual contrast while clearly separating the planting from the surrounding lawn.
Two matching block tree rings were also installed around existing trees.
Rather than leaving those trees visually disconnected from the rest of the landscaping, matching the tree rings to the main garden edging helped bring the entire frontage together.
Planting for Presentation and Practicality
The new garden areas were prepared before planting, with plant selections chosen to suit the coastal-inspired appearance and local growing conditions.
Because this was an investment property, long-term practicality played a significant role in the design.
There’s little value in improving a rental property before market only to create a complicated garden that demands constant attention afterwards.
The aim was to achieve a noticeable transformation without unnecessarily increasing future maintenance.
New Turf to Complete the Makeover

The existing lawn was another major part of the property’s tired appearance.
Once the garden beds and edging were established, the front yard was prepared and new turf installed.
That final step was important.
Instead of having new gardens sitting beside a worn lawn, the fresh turf allowed the garden beds, trees and lawn to read as one complete landscape.
From Neglected Rental to Market-Ready Property
The finished result changed the first impression of the property considerably.
The cream block edging gives the garden structure. The coastal-style planting refreshes the frontage. Defined tree rings turn existing trees into deliberate landscape features rather than isolated elements.
New turf then ties the entire front yard together.
For landlords and property owners, this project is a solid example of how targeted landscaping in Gatton can improve a property’s presentation without turning the garden into something unnecessarily complicated.
You don’t always need to rebuild an entire outdoor area.
Sometimes the right combination of garden preparation, edging, planting and turf is enough to completely reset the way a property presents.
